Centuries Old Ayurveda Dye Formulas

We all know that Ayurveda is one of the oldest science prevailing on earth. But did you that Ayurveda is home to some of the world’s oldest medicines also?

The history of Ayurveda dates back to some 5,000 years ago. It is said that ancient seers who lived in India way back at that time received Ayurvedic science’s enormous gift from the god’s itself. Fascinating, right?

Yes, ancient and old texts that have the cure of every disease have been recorded in the Atharva Veda, one of the four primary Vedas in Hindu Mythology.

Through this came to light the knowledge of Ayurveda, and so came the perfect balance between body and environment.

History and Origin Of Ayurveda

If we dig about the history of Ayurveda, then it dates back to the Satya Yuga. It was a time when Lord Brahma transferred the knowledge to his son Daksh Prajapati who, in turn, gave them to the twin Vedic Gods “Ashwin Kumars.”

There is a mention of the Ayurvedas even in the longest Hindu epic “Mahabharat.” It is believed that both Nakul and Sahadeva were born to Madri when she prayed to the Ashwin Kumars. As the twin Vedic gods were a cradle of Ayurvedic Knowledge, both Nakul and Sahadev were well-versed in that.

It is also seen throughout the Mahabharat that both Pandava princes healed animals, humans and were very well equipped with the various texts of the Ayurveda. Apart from the princes, various rishi and munis have dedicated their lives to the research and understanding of the universe and its connection with the human body.

From generation to generation, these rishi and munis have passed down their wealth of knowledge to their sons and disciples, which was later recorded and texted in the Vedas. Through these books, we get to know the miraculous benefit that lies in the womb of Ayurveda.

How Did Ayurveda Reach The Other Corners Of The World?

During the mid to late 20th century, many explorers and seekers from the West began to travel to India to seek further knowledge about the Vedas. The teachings of both Ayurveda and Yoga then propagated to the West rapidly and then became inculcated in their cultures.

Ayurveda is a combination of both physical and psychological characteristics and a deeper understanding of how the body works with the environment. Ayurveda also describes that certain types of diseases work according to the various doshas that constitute the body composition.
